Our story
Hi, we're Lula & Me.
We're Cheryl and Pam — a mother-and-daughter team handmaking heat packs from a little workspace in Darley, Victoria.
The name Lula is a mashup of our two fur-grandbabies, Louie and Lola, who keep us company (and shed gently on the cotton) while we sew. The Me is us. Both of us.
Why we started
We got tired of looking at heat packs. You know the ones — plain beige, hospital-looking, the sort of thing you'd happily hide in a drawer between uses. We figured something that's meant to make you feel better should also look nice doing it.
So we started making our own. Pretty prints. Soft cotton. Filled with proper lupins, not cheap fillings that smell wheaty.
What started as a few packs for ourselves and family turned into a stall at the local markets, and then this little online store.
What we make
Every Lula & Me heat pack is sewn by hand in small batches. We use 100% cotton on the outside and fill them with 100% Australian-grown lupin seeds — a natural filling that holds heat beautifully, feels lovely and soft, and doesn't have the strong wheaty smell some heat packs have.
Our packs are made for cramp days, sore necks, tense shoulders, achy backs, cold hands, chilly mornings, and anyone who just needs something warm and grounding in their lap.
Find us in person
You'll find us at local markets most weekends. Come say hi if you spot us — and bring your favourite heat pack so we can recommend a print that matches.
